Canada's Aboriginal History Portal gives licencees the following learning platforms:

  • Canada's First People (CFP) is Canada's first Aboriginal and Native Studies textbook and resource centre. CFP is an ideal resource for Social Studies and Native Studies from Advanced Middle School to College.

The First Canadians (CFPJr) is written at the Grade 6 readability level and focuses on the following learning outcomes:

  • Linguistic groups and tribal movement;

Canada's First People provides a consistent body of materials on the Internet. The portal consists of a browsable and printable textbook, plus a large indexed repository of illustrations, texts, research materials, online quizzes, projects and lesson plans.

Use of interactive Web software allows collaborative input from users. A low readability scale makes the textbook useful for a wide variety of learning levels. Regular indexing ensures that students can search as well as browse to find resources.
