Since 1987, we've developed thousands of commercial and custom software products on a wide variety of popular platforms. To follow are a few of the more notable projects we've worked on:
- Photon
Analysis, design and development for this extremely high-speed, low-overhead, database search and retrieval system.
Photon indexes have less than 15 percent of the storage overhead of comparable BTree indexes.
Photon searches are 250 to 1600 times faster than comparable searches using BTree indexes, with minimal memory and CPU overhead.
Photon is a web search engine used on Canada Channel and Time Machine, and is also the underlying search engine for several CD-ROM products including Termium and Canadisk.
- Canadisk
Analysis, design and development of all processing, user-interface, search and retrieval, image display and reporting software for this multi-platform, multi-edition, bilingual CD-ROM product. The Canadisk CD-ROM, which was originally published in Canada by Encyclopedia Britannica, and later, Fitzhenry & Whiteside Publishers, was a large collection of digital images, historical databases, historical documents and educational lesson plans.
- Termium
Analysis, design and development of all data processing, user-interface, search and retrieval and reporting software for this multi-platform, multi-edition, linguistic mainframe database on CD-ROM. The largest table used to create this product contained in excess of 1,000,000 rows of variable-length, variable-field data. The source tables consumed just under 900 MB of storage. The custom indices contained approximately 29,000,000 unique entries and the largest of eight scrollable-lists contained over 1,000,000 unique entries. When complete, this multi-platform product was brought down to 550 MB of total data storage including all software, libraries and documentation.
- Eicon Universal Access
Analysis and development of all user-interface, security, installation and viewer software required by Eicon Technologies Inc. for this commercial CD-ROM of LAN/WAN Connectivity applications and tools.
- Neutrino
Analysis, design and development of all data compression and encryption techniques
- Executive Presenter
Analysis and development of all software and processes used for this commercial Executive Information System.
- Midas
Co-designed, co-designed and co-developed this dealer access system for Matsushita/Panasonic used remotely by all of their Canadian dealers, served over a Banyan Vines network.
- Skilbase
Team leader, analysis, design and development for this commercial job skills and training database environment.
- SpaceTime
Analysis, design and development for all processing software and translation aids for this Macintosh CD-ROM of historical databases documents, images and video.
- Columbus Day by Day
Analysis and development of all processing software and translation aids for this Macintosh CD-ROM of historical databases, documents, images and video.
